Exterior Painting
Clean
When we paint the body of your house including stucco, siding, brick, etc. We always pressure wash in order to ensure a clean surface to apply paint to. On jobs with only trim we make sure to sand all the surfaces being painted, followed by a good dusting. If more rigorous cleaning is needed, we wipe trim down with a wet rag to remove any remaining dirt.
Surface Preparation
We stand by the mantra that prep is the most important part of a paint job. Yes, aesthetics are important, but it doesn't matter if the paint starts peeling in 1 year.
Before painting, we scrape off any peeling and loose paint from the surface. When bare wood is exposed, we sand it and apply oil primer. Oil primer is used on all of our projects in order to ensure a long lasting paint job.
Painting
Depending on the surface, we use different methods to apply the paint. Based on your project, we pick the optimal application method to give the surface a fresh looking finish coat. The two methods we use are spraying, and brushing and rolling. Before spraying, we mask off areas that are not being painted and within reasonable distance to the application. Tarps are used under areas that we are using paint products and where protection is needed.
Cleanup & Inspection
If tools are left on site, we organize them neatly, and agree with you on a location to store them overnight. We clean up at the end of each day to keep your space functional and free from job-related debris. Once the project is complete, we conduct a final walk-through to ensure everything meets your expectations before we leave.
